Korean food that comes from trees
Nature and HANSIK

The Giving Tree is a well-known story about how a tree gives everything of itself for the happiness of one boy. This relationship dynamic also applies to trees and Korean food.
In the spring, trees produce shoots whose slightly bitter aftertaste reminds us that the season of life has begun. Throughout summer and fall, trees bear fruit of diverse flavors
that range from the very tart to the very sweet. At times, trees also nourish other life forms, such as mushrooms, whose flavors enrich our table as well.
And that’s not all. The tree’s body is often transformed into tableware that is both lightweight and sturdy.
The May 2022 issue of Korean Food Lifestyle Magazine spotlights the trees that are linked to Korean food.
