The Non-contact Korean Meal Kit Event was a Sensation in Brazil

The Korean food meal kits and recipe video contents, which were developed by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Rural Affairs and the Korean Food Promotion Institute to disseminate and broaden Korean food culture experiences, were well received by Brazilian locals.
The Korean Cultural Center in Brazil organized an experience event by launching “Korean meal kits” and “recipe video contents” for an entire month last June. The Korean Cultural Center in Brazil noted the reason for holding the event, saying, “Despite the prolonged restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the popularity of Korean culture and Korean food in Brazil persists. It was an opportunity to further elevate the Brazilian locals’ interest in Korean culture and Korean food.”

 

Sharing 12 Korean Food Experiences with Brazilian Locals
This event was held as a non-contact experience, introducing online the Korean meal kits and recipe video contents developed by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Rural Affairs and the Korean Food Promotion Institute in line with the growing demand for Korean food education in Brazil despite the COVID-19 pandemic (global pandemic). 
The event consisted of giving participants 12 types of Korean meal kits, together with video contents containing each recipe and corresponding materials, so that every household member could prepare Korean food on his or her own.

Great Response from Brazilian Locals
The Korean Cultural Center in Brazil drew the locals’ attention toward Korean food by encouraging participants to post photos of the food they made, and their experience about cooking them on their Instagram accounts. Then, exceptional entries were selected, and its creators won Korean souvenirs. This campaign contributed to the active participation of about 100 reviewers whose content were posted in mid-June. 
The Korean Cultural Center in Brazil said, “This event was very well-received, as about 700 people applied for the 65-people event that was posted on our website and on social media (SNS). We plan to hold the event again in the second half of this year.”
